Charity Skydive for Fosse Mansfield Branch Manager
While the rest of us adjust to eased lockdown regulations, leaving the house and even socialising with others, Fosse Healthcare’s Mansfield Branch Manager, Julie Roberts, has been preparing for a birthday celebration to remember – a charity tandem skydive!
Julie joined Fosse Healthcare as Branch Manager earlier this year, and from the off it’s been a rollercoaster journey with Covid-19 keeping Julie and her team busy. But it appears that lockdown has also provided some inspiration for Julie, who will be flying 13,000 feet in the air in support of her chosen charity; The Alzheimer’s Society.
“I’ve been in the care industry since I was 17 years old. I have worked with a number of people over the years who have had dementia and I’ve seen the impact it can have not just on those suffering with the disease, but on their friends and families, too.
“As such this has become a cause which is very close to my heart, and any donation you can give will help the Alzheimer’s Society in their efforts to find a cure, and offer support to dementia sufferers and their families.”
Dementia is the broad term used to describe a number of different conditions affecting the brain, including Alzheimer’s disease, vascular dementia and frontotemporal dementia to name just a few.
Alzheimer’s Society is the UK’s number one dementia care and research charity, and since its founding in 1979 the Society has relied on donations in order to campaign for change, educate, fund cure research and support the 850,000 people in the UK living with dementia.
Julie will be taking to the skies on July 18th and she hopes to raise close to £1,000 for this worthwhile cause; all donations to support her in this wonderful birthday celebration can be made direct via her Just Giving page.
We wish Julie all the best with her skydive, and we’ll catch up with Julie in a few weeks to see how she got on!
